Charity and Not for profit

Donna Bulmer, Managing Partner at Haines Watts North East, is swapping her suit for a sleeping bag as she sleeps under the stars to help tackle homelessness and poverty.

Joining a team of other business leaders in Newcastle, Donna is hoping to raise over £1,000 at the CEO Sleepout in St. James' Park.

The one-night event will take place on Thursday 1st March and will involve an array of Directors, CEOs, and Partners from North East businesses braving the cold to raise vital funds. Last year the event raised over £90,000 for local charities and it is hoped even more will be raised this year.

Speaking about the event, Donna said: "There’s no known training for sleeping rough so I’m a little apprehensive about the experience, but your support will help to make it all worthwhile. I’m aiming to raise £1,000 on the night so any support would be very much appreciated.

"Homelessness and poverty are two massive problems currently faced by our region. This event will go a long way in both raising awareness of these issues and also raising vital funds for the charities playing a crucial role in breaking people out of the poverty cycle."

There are currently over 80 business leaders signed up to take part in CEO Sleepout Newcastle.

The money raised by the Newcastle sleep out will go to partner charities who know how best to help those in crisis, including North East based Changing Lives.

Anyone wishing to donate and help tackle homelessness in the North East can do so using Donna's JustGiving page.
