Work from Home
There has been some discussion in recent days over a spat between large accountancy firm PWC and the renowned Lord Sugar following the formers decision to offer ‘Summer working hours’. This permits staff to leave the office at Friday lunchtime if they have completed their work. As you can imagine Lord Sugar did not mince his words.
Whether you agree or disagree with Lord Sugar you cannot ignore his position in the business world. The overriding point here though is that it is never wise to generalise. I worked from home for years and have always been reasonably productive.
Many of us do not work in the public sector and talk of 4 day weeks and summer working hours is somewhat alien. We have all seen the effects of what working from home has had on the public sector and how service levels have fallen off a cliff. In certain sectors of business it just does not work.
We all need to ensure that we keep, not only our own business to the fore but also that of GB Plc.
