James Liptrott

James joined Haines Watts after leaving university in 2001 working as a trainee accountant before qualifying in 2004. Soon after qualifying he became the lead audit senior, before progressing to become manager in charge of compliance services and overall production, working his way to director in 2011.

James has a wealth of knowledge and in-depth experience in financial accounting, business planning and providing management advice to small and medium sized owner managed businesses.

A  qualified audit director (RI), with extensive experience in leading complex audit assignments within rapidly changing business environments, in particular reporting to overseas parents and group account reporting and auditing.

Outside of work James leads an active and sporting life, taking part in numerous challenges from walking the National 3 Peaks and Coast to Coast, running half marathons, Tough Mudder and cycling sportives. He is also an avid fan of the Nottingham Panthers and holds a season ticket at Nottingham Forest.

Above all James loves spending quality time with his partner and son Toby.
