Does your business need investment to grow?

01 November 2018

Have you got a bold plan for your business but lack the finance to carry it out? Maybe you need to invest in new machinery, are looking for new premises having outgrown your existing HQ or have had previous applications for funding rejected. Help is at hand thanks to Worcestershire Business Central’s new Investment Readiness Support programme. Through the scheme, SMEs can receive 18 hours of fully funded assistance which may include:
  • Support on what's required to approach business and financial lenders
  • Advice on potential types and likely cost of funding – equity, debt or a combination
  • Help to fund working capital by managing cashflow
  • Introductions to potential investors
  • Advice on putting together an investor engagement plan
  • Preparation and final approval of all financial material
  • Business planning to capitalise on new opportunities
  • Analysis of financing requirements
To qualify for the programme, businesses must be based in Worcestershire and be an SME with fewer than 250 employees and be trading business to business rather than business to consumer. You must also have been trading for one year or more and have the potential to grow your business and create jobs. John Painter, partner at Haines Watts, has been helping SME business owners to manage and grow their businesses for over 30 years and his experience means he can offer businesses an understanding to implement their growth aims. Delivering the programme with John is Ian Priest, who has worked in banking in Worcestershire since 1986 and has an understanding from both the lender and business owner's points of view. John said: “One of my key reasons for getting involved is that the feedback I receive from banks and other finance providers is that the standard of information given when businesses either apply themselves or don’t involve a professional to access funds is frankly shocking.   “I’ve always been proud to help businesses in Worcestershire and I’m looking forward to helping many more SMEs grow and develop to reach their full potential.” To find out more about the Investment Readiness Support programme, visit the Worcestershire Business Central website or contact John Painter at JHPainter@hwca.com John will be talking about the programme during his presentation on getting your business in shape in 2019 at the Haines Watts Business Breakfast at The Hive in Worcester on Tuesday, February 12.
