The London practice of Top 15 firm, Haines Watts, has acquired Shoreditch based Chartered Accountants, Gallaghers.

The move sees Haines Watts continue on an ambitious acquisition strategy and further strengthens the firm’s position as a leading advisor to the owner managed market in London and the South East.

The deal is the second acquisition by Haines Watts London in less than a year and brings the combined turnover of its London businesses to £15 million.

Gallaghers will trade as part of the Haines Watts Group from its Shoreditch location. A team of 4 partners and 26 staff will remain with the business.

Matt Perry, Managing Partner of Haines Watts London, comments: “I’m delighted to welcome the team at Gallaghers to the Haines Watts family. They share our passion for supporting business owners and their additional private client expertise further strengthens our existing proposition and capabilities.”

Sam Clarke, Managing Partner of Gallaghers, adds: “we look forward to working with the like-minded team at Haines Watts. This is an exciting opportunity for our staff who will benefit from the investment Haines Watts has made in nurturing and rewarding talent. Our clients can expect to continue enjoying the highly personal approach we offer while being able to tap into additional services that are offered by a national organisation.”

Perry concludes: “2018 has been a year of steady expansion for our London practice. Through both acquisition and organic growth we continue to attract and support ambitious business owners and deliver services and solutions that enable them to reach their aspirations. This is an exciting time for our business, our people and our clients.”

I enjoy becoming an integral part of a business’s journey and draw on my own experience in managing a fast growing company. There are so many angles to consider when a business starts to scale up. There’s nothing better for me than setting some long term goals with a business owner, supporting them through that growth and ultimately seeing them achieve their ambitions.

If I wasn't doing this I'd be: selling.
