For example, when you need new business, search engines give you direct access to people who are ‘searching’ for a company just like yours. What’s more you can track which search terms or words bring people to your website – and which words deliver enquiries or online sales. If you want to build relationships with existing customers, then ‘tracked’ e-mail marketing enables you to send e-mails – and then see who opens the e-mails and what they look at when they visit your website. This tells you what interests your customers – and creates warm leads for follow up by e-mail or telemarketing.
