National accolades for ‘local’ accountants
A LOCAL accountancy group is celebrating national success, having been voted the best for supporting small businesses by its professional peers.
Haines Watts Chartered Accountants, with offices on Towngate, Leyland, have been named Auditor of the Year in the SME category at the industry’s annual FDs Excellence Awards.
The FDs' Excellence Awards are the biggest accolade for UK finance directors. Hosted by Real Business in association with ICAEW, and supported by the CBI, the awards recognise the UK's best Finance Directors - and their service providers.
The Excellence Awards recognise business banks, auditors, financial software suppliers and recruitment firms. They are determined by votes from approximately 1200 CFO's, FD's and senior finance professionals. Haines Watts were crowned ‘Auditor of the Year’ at a glittering gala awards ceremony at the London Marriott in Grosvenor Square.
Mark Croasdale, Audit Manager at Haines Watts Preston office (situated in Leyland), commented: “I'm delighted for the audit team here, the award serves as recognition for all the hard work they put in during the year in acting for our clients.”
Haines Watts, whose corporate strapline is ‘Local Matter, National Strength,’ is a national UK business advisory and accountancy firm with a network of practices strategically placed throughout England, Wales and Scotland, offering tax and general business advice.
Paul Newsham, Haines Watts partner, added: “This award is clearly a great endorsement for the firm from end users and fellow professionals. Whilst we specialise in the provision of tax, accounts and general business advice to owner-managed UK businesses, privately owned companies and private individuals, our client base covers the full range of sectors and business structures that you would expect of a top 15 firm of tax accountants.”
