Geoff qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990, with a then Big 5 firm and spent nearly 10 years in small partnership in Willenhall. Geoff joined Haines Watts in 2001 and specialises in advising small, owner-managed businesses.

After qualifying in 1986 with Grant Thornton, Mark moved to the Birmingham office of KPMG where he extended his audit and tax experience, on clients that included both private and public companies and overseas assignments in France and Germany.Mark Joined Haines Watts in Wolverhampton in February 1991 and as the Senior Audit Manager, oversaw the running of the audit department with responsibility for a wide range of limited company clients as well as partnerships and sole traders. Mark was made a partner in 2007.

Jeremy has many years experience of dealing with owner managers and their businesses. A former Inspector of Taxes with over fifteen years HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) service, Jeremy has extensive experience of tax investigation work. Since leaving HMRC in 1992 Jeremy has been tax consultancy manager with two leading advisory practices, IRPC and Abbey Tax Protection Limited.In 2001, Jeremy became Tax Investigation Manager for Grant Thornton in Birmingham and Coventry. Prior to joining Haines Watts in March 2004 Jeremy operated as an independent consultant offering advice and support to accountancy practices with taxation problems. Whilst a tax investigation specialist Jeremy also has a wide range of experience covering personal and corporate tax issues Jeremy was made a partner in 2006.

Alan spent his early career with KPMG Birmingham, latterly providing strategic advice and fund raising assistance for a range of Midlands companies.
He left the profession to participate in the first two MBIs which he has undertaken, raising over £40 million for one of these. He has spent 12 years in executive management roles, leading the financial transformation of a number of rapidly changing businesses. This included project managing a number of acquisitions, in which he dealt with planning, fund raising and post acquisition management integration.
He has in depth experience of a range of manufacturing and distribution industries, particularly building materials, electronics, automotive and engineering. He returned to the accounting profession in 2003, joining HW to lead Corporate Finance work in the West Midlands. In addition to assisting clients with acquisitions and fund raising, he has a special commitment to business succession planning and retirement sales of owner managed businesses. This expertise was recognised recently when he was asked to represent the West Midlands and speak at a European Conference on business succession planning and finance.

Jason, our VAT Consultant, has over 13 years of indirect tax experience, specialising in property and European transactions and with particular focus on OMB and the not-for-profit sectors.
He is a Chairman of The VAT Practitioners Group (West Midlands branch) and a member of the Institute of Indirect Taxation (IIT).
Previous employment has been at Cooper Parry llp (Leicestershire), BNB Tax Consultants (Birmingham) and a niche not-for-profit VAT provider Liaison VAT Ltd (Worcester).
Jason has worked for a number of clients over the years covering a variety of trade sectors from manufacturing and assembly through to more hi-tec web design and data hosting businesses, all of which have unique and complex VAT considerations. His particular specialism’s are property related matters including property transfers, Transfer of Going Concerns including SDLT advice and European transactions which are becoming more relevant as businesses trade across borders to grow their income streams.
Jason is married with one daughter, enjoys gardening, motor sports and hiking, especially in the French Alps.

He became a Chartered Loss Adjuster and Chartered Insurance Practitioner and joined HW in 1999 as the Forensic Accountancy and Litigation Support Partner. David specialises in expert witness and claims advice for both litigation and commercial claims.
