Paul qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1972 and then went to work for Deloittes in their Paris office. After 3 years in the profession he moved into industry as Financial Director of the European Arm of a Major US Medical company. He moved back to the UK in 1984 to start his own accountancy practice and joined with Haines Watts in 2002.

Paul is really motivated by assisting the owners of small to medium businesses realise their own goals and to strengthen this undertook a two year course at the University of East Anglia where he obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in 1997. He is also a member of the Institute of Management Consultants.

Matthew has been a partner with the firm for 4 years specialising in management accounts and provision of the firms auditing service.

Matthew qualified in 2001 and enjoys riding his motorbike in competitions when time permits!

Nick trained and qualified with Thomson McLintock, now part of KPMG. He established his own practice in 1981 dealing with small and medium sized businesses . Nick transferred his clients to Haines Watts on joining the partnership as resident partner in the Thetford office in 2007.

Nick has a broad base of knowledge about all sorts of business and he puts this to use in advising and helping companies. He also has large understanding of day to day management of statutory and taxation matters that affect businesses. He enjoys helping businesses develop and reach their potential.

Elizabeth grew up in USA and studied for her honours degree in English at Vassar College. On moving to the UK Elizabeth continued her studies and was awarded an BA/MA at Girton College Cambridge.

Elizabeth then gained a training position with Deloitte Haskins & Sells in 1987 in Cambridge and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991. Elizabeth then spent 10 years as an accountant in industry, with in-depth experience of process engineering, eg chemicals (Genzyme) and food and also computer resellers (Cambridge Multimedia and Disc Direct). In 1998, she moved back into practice, working for a small firm near Cambridge and in 1999, set up her own practice later acquiring two smaller practices.

In September 2009 Elizabeth joined the HW group and is now based in the Thetford office. Elizabeth has previously been heavily involved in national church finances and advised on the `1992 Charities Act. Outside of accountancy Elizabeth’s greatest extracurricular interest is music.

She has been an organist from the age of 13 and is a regular singer with Kirbye Voices, a small ensemble based in Bury St Edmunds which specialises in a capella polyphonic music.

Sandra has worked for Haines Watts as Personal Tax Manager for over 4 years and has the experience and knowledge needed to manage all aspects of personal tax including the ever changing statutory requirements.
