There is a tax exemption within the Government’s Green Transport Plan which allows employers to provide cycles and safety equipment to employees as a tax free benefit.
Savings of up to 52% of the cost of a brand new bicycle and cycling equipment are available as a result of Government initiatives to encourage healthier lifestyles, promote greener living and reduce environmental pollution.
All Employers are entitled to participate in the scheme, and provided 50% of the bicycles use is for commuting, it is a tax and national insurance exempt benefit in kind on the employee.
