Frank qualified with Deloitte Haskins and Sells (now Pricewaterhouse Coopers) and served five years as Audit Manager with them, before joining Gruber Levinson Frank in Liverpool where he spent three years initially as a Senior Manager and then two years as a General Practice Partner.Frank joined Haines Watts as a Partner in 1996 and is now responsible for a diverse portfolio of clients, including owner managed businesses, professional partnerships, large charitable organisations and wealthy individuals.Frank believes that by being pro-active in his approach to the provision of advice to clients they can gain competitive advantage to develop and strengthen their businesses. Frank acts as a non executive Finance Director for a number of clients to ensure that they have timely, up to date advice in all business matters.Frank Murphy was President of the Liverpool Society of Chartered Accountants for 2005/06.

Russell has over 20 years experience in the industry and was appointed as a partner in the Liverpool office of Gruber Levinson Franks in 1987, having joined the practice from Arthur Andersen in 1981. In September 1999 Russell and his team representing half of the Liverpool office left and merged with Haines Watts, thereby doubling the size of the Liverpool practice.Russell has worked with many types of businesses ranging in size from sole traders to multinationals. He specialises in dealing with owner controlled companies and provides a day to day service. He enjoys a close working relationship with his clients and he aims to understand the people and their business. Russell specialises in advice on business development as well as accounting and tax matters.

Des worked with the Inland Revenue for 16 years rising to Senior Inspector of Taxes in charge of the Investigations Programme of a North London tax district. In 1988 he joined Gruber Levinson Franks, a 20 partner firm to set up their tax investigation department covering the entire firm, which at the time was one of the largest independent firms in the North West.
He became a partner of GLF in 1996 and in 1999 moved with Russell to HW as the Technical Tax Partner in Liverpool specialising in tax investigation and specialist tax planning. As well as his duties in Liverpool he also deals with investigation issues for the whole of the HW group particularly investigations by Special Civil Investigations(SCI). Des also has considerable experience dealing with enquiries raised regarding overseas bank accounts held by UK Residents.
As well as investigations he possesses a wide range of experience covering all aspects of tax related to owner managed businesses and high net worth individuals including corporate and personal tax planning, capital gains and inheritance tax planning, employee tax issues and remuneration planning.
