Chris Timms, F.C.C.A, is the Managing Partner of the Kettering office. Chris trained with Haines Watts Bedford before enjoying a period in commerce then re-joining Haines Watts Flitwick before relocating to Northamptonshire in 2008. Whilst developing the office in Kettering and the surrounding areas Chris works very closely with the Northampton team in growing the County operations.
Chris acts as a business advisor in a commercial capacity to many of his clients and also undertakes locum FD roles when needed. He specialises in owner managed businesses and advises on a wide range of issues including internal control, cost management and accounting systems.

Graham Goss, F.C.A. is Senior Partner of the Northampton office. He has vast experience ranging over 30 years in accounting. Before joining Haines Watts, Graham previously worked in industry which helps him bring a balanced view to his clients. Graham thrives on understanding his clients businesses so that he can offer commercial practical advice from a pragmatic viewpoint. Graham strengths lie in strategic development, refinancing, business acquisitions/sales and succession planning.

Gavin Parsons, F.C.C.A., recently joined as a partner of the Northampton office from another local practice. He is a talented young accountant who will brings his experience of looking after clients in the SME and owner managed sector to the practice. Gavin reinforces the management team in Northampton and adds a further competitive edge to the office. He has extensive experience in leading complex audit assignments, with particular experience in the construction and service sector. In his spare time, Gavin is a triathlete.

Jason, our VAT Consultant, has over 13 years of indirect tax experience, specialising in property and European transactions and with particular focus on OMB and the not-for-profit sectors.
He is a Chairman of The VAT Practitioners Group (West Midlands branch) and a member of the Institute of Indirect Taxation (IIT).
Previous employment has been at Cooper Parry llp (Leicestershire), BNB Tax Consultants (Birmingham) and a niche not-for-profit VAT provider Liaison VAT Ltd (Worcester).
Jason has worked for a number of clients over the years covering a variety of trade sectors from manufacturing and assembly through to more hi-tec web design and data hosting businesses, all of which have unique and complex VAT considerations. His particular specialism’s are property related matters including property transfers, Transfer of Going Concerns including SDLT advice and European transactions which are becoming more relevant as businesses trade across borders to grow their income streams.
Jason is married with one daughter, enjoys gardening, motor sports and hiking, especially in the French Alps.

Stewart started work with the firm in 2000. He has over 10 years of accounting experience in preparing financial statements for a range of businesses from sole traders and partnerships to limited companies and dealing with their related tax issues. Stewart's role is to ensure that the production of financial statements is of a high standard for both himself and more junior members of the team, as well as providing support to the management accounting department.

Jane has been preparing accounts for clients of the practice since 1993. Jane is an accounts senior with more than 25 years experience working in public practice ranging from the preparation of accounts from incomplete records to the audit of small and medium sized companies. Jane also has experience of all aspects of PAYE, VAT and Corporation Tax matters and has dealt directly with HM Customs and Excise reviews of client records and Inland Revenue employers and contractors reviews.

Donna has been with the firm, and the predecessors, for 15 years. Donna has taken primary responsibility for the payroll department across the county, overseeing the preparation of weekly and monthly payroll paperwork and associated PAYE Returns. Donna works on a part time basis every morning from Monday to Friday and is the main point of contact for all payroll work.

Claire has over 15 years experience working in public practice. Claire qualified as a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) in 1987 and has a wide range of accountancy experience ranging from the preparation of accounts from incomplete records to the statutory audit of limited companies. Claire's role is principally the preparation of financial statements for small to medium sized businesses and dealing with the related taxation compliance requirements for those clients.

Leanne is a qualified member of the ACCA and has 10 years of experience working in practice ranging from accounts preparation for sole traders and partnerships to small to medium sized limited companies, including statutory audit work and management accounting. Leanne works on a part time basis from Monday to Thursday.

Phil is the tax manager for the county and has over 10 years experience within the accounting industry, specialising in UK tax. Phil has worked in a number of firms across the Midlands including a niche tax planning boutique. Phil understands that tax minimisation is a key priority for clients and works closely with Michael to ensure clients are correctly structured and are making the most of the available reliefs in order to mitigate their tax liabilities.
