European Distribution Services (EDS) is an Aylesbury-based distributor of luxury haircare products. Their market includes the UK, most of the European Community, South Africa, and exclusive distribution rights for haircare products imported from the USA, Germany and Italy. EDS is a privately owned and shareholder managed group which, until 2005 had used another larger accountancy firm for audit, corporate and personal taxation and related advice. This relationship started in 1998 and was ended because the owners of EDS felt that they were not receiving the attention and pro-active advice which the group's activities warranted. As time passed and the group expanded fees grew at a rate which EDS felt outstripped the service which was being given. We felt that we were perhaps now too small an operation for them in the light of their many larger clients. A decision was taken to appoint HW as advisers to the group and they were responsible for the audit and related work on the 2006 accounts.
