Is your business the X Factor?
by Haines Watts Farnborough on 16 December 2011
You may believe that your business has the X Factor, but is it organised like the TV show?
When we watch the show we tend to forget about all the hard work that occurs behind the scenes to ensure the show is successfully broadcast. This is usually the same in business, with a multitude of staff being involved not only to ensure your product or service is delivered correctly and on time, but so that you get paid on time by your customers.
Of course, staff are remunerated (just as the camera and lighting crew are on TV), but it is always nice to show a little extra appreciation of the excellent job they do. TV crews may get their recognition by way of the credits at the end of a programme, but you could achieve the same, albeit in a slightly lower key way, by say including them on the company Christmas card sent out to customers. Demonstrating that your staff are key players in your business may just give them that little extra “glow” inside and could cost you nothing! And, it even may be that you have an “X Factor star” within the business who deserves some extra special treatment!
