How do you market your business?

For many years accountancy held back from telesales and to a degree media based marketing. Historically, telesales has been associated with aggressive selling of household improvements and with scams and frauds. Accountants found new business using traditional methods of recommendation and referrals.

How times have changed! As a chartered practice we still adhere to Institute rules and regulations on marketing but we have a talented team of Business Development assistants who keep in regular contact with local businesses using a variety of media communications. One of those is telesales.

“ I love this job, its great to speak with people all day, and people love to talk about their businesses! I speak to probably 40 or 50 businesses a day covering all sectors and industries and often build strong relationships with these businesses before we have even met them.

Of course every one managing their own business is very busy and you have to appreciate that and be perceptive to their needs.  ‘Courting’ of prospects can be a long process and requires organisation and patience! Changing your accountant can be a big decision for a business owner and we want the transition to be as smooth as possible.”

We also send regular email updates to clients featuring both business and accountancy articles. These e-zines provide topical information regarding tax, finance and business news and are supported by ‘social media’ in  the form of twitter, facebook, linked In and blogging!

We have had to move with the times and if that means learning new ways to communicate using tweets and posts then we embrace the challenge! Being in business is all about learning to adapt and evolve to the environment around you and that’s where we excel. As a local practice we able to respond quickly to change, and as part of a national firm with 50+ offices we have the support and expertise to match client needs.

For HW East Anglia marketing is a mix of listening, hearing and responding to our clients needs and the wider business environment. In listening we ensure we are able to respond to change quickly and with confidence.
