Since becoming a director of Haines Watts over 12 years ago, Tony has had experience of working with a number of clients at senior level, covering a variety of trade sectors from manufacturing and retail through to specialist service industries. His particular skills lie in advising owner managers on how to develop their businesses through strategic planning, boosting income streams and profitability whilst minimising tax burdens.
Tony is married with one son and a crazy Airedale terrier. He enjoys long walks in the country, trips to the pub and relaxing with family and friends.

Mark has extensive knowledge of corporate and personal taxation. He has been with Haines Watts for over 10 years, previously having started his career with one of the large international firms of Chartered Accountants.
Mark lives with his partner Rebecca and their two children. He has a keen interest in most sports, particularly football, squash, and snowboarding.

Martin has over 20 years experience of advising clients in the East Midlands, specialising in the OMB sector.
As a general practice partner, Martin has a broad client base with experience of most industry types and client sizes. His role also involves carrying out various Corporate Finance activities both within and outside of the firms client base ranging from providing business valuations to due diligence services.
Martin is married with a son and daughter, is a keen football supporter, avid motor racing fan, swimmer and gym attendee. He also recently added tri-athlons to his list of interests, and is looking forward to more challenges from it in the years to come.

Ross has 18 years experience as a partner in the field of audit and corporate finance including advising upon multi-million pound transactions both in the UK and overseas. He now specialises in assisting SME’s to achieve their growth plans and in the design of exit strategies for owner-managers. Ross is a qualified audit partner (RI) and fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Ross is married with one son and does not enjoy gardening but is an avid cyclist both road and mountain biking undertaking a number of sponsored charity rides annually. He also enjoys motorsport and walking in the Peak District.

James joined Haines Watts in 2001 after leaving university and is a prize-winner in the ICAEW examinations. James qualified in 2004 and worked his way up to Audit and Accounts manager before becoming a director in 2011.
James’ role encompasses audit, account and tax work for individuals and SMEs and throughout his 9 years at Haines Watts has developed excellent relationships with his clients.
He specialises in audit assignments including reporting to overseas parents, and group accounts. He also provides monthly reporting services and ongoing advice to our larger clients.
James leads an active and varied lifestyle outside of work, he loves to keep fit running, walking and mountain biking.
James also keeps busy running a local charity as trustee. In the last two years James has raised many thousands of pounds for the charity running half marathons and walking the National 3 Peak and Coast to Coast Challenges.
Above all James loves spending quality time with his son Toby.

Chris joined Haines Watts in 2001 as a part qualified senior having commenced his training in a local practice in Melton Mowbray. Since joining the firm he has gone on to qualify as a member of the ACCA and worked his way up to his current position of manager.
Chris’ role encompasses audit, accountancy, tax work and software training for individuals and SMEs. During the 9 years he has been with the firm he has developed excellent relationships with the clients he has worked with.
Chris specialises in both tax and accounts compliance work helping clients meet their statutory deadlines. He also provides a Financial Directors role to a number of our SME clients preparing the Management Information needed and working with various banks to ensure the funding is in place to take the businesses forward.
Outside of work Chris leads an active life revolving around his wife and two children Jessica and Gregory. He is a keen follower of football and rugby, and plays five a side football every week.

Sandra has a wealth of experience on taxation matters gained initially in the Inland Revenue and later in private practice. She deals mainly with personal tax, PAYE mattters, national insurance and tax credits.

Hazel has been a part of the HW group for over ten years, having originally qualified as a bookkeeper in 1995, she has developed her skill set to also include preparation of VAT returns, credit control and payroll. With over fourteen years of experience in payroll, Hazel prides herself on her client interface and has headed the bureau function in Derby for over four years.
Hazel lives with her husband, two teenage girls & two female cats. Her main passion is for making cards & gifts, for family, friends & charity. Hazels other interests include ‘bagging’ Wainwrights, studying Earth Sciences, walking, reading and listening to modern music.

Jason has over 13 years of indirect tax experience, specialising in property and European transactions and with particular focus on OMB and the not-for-profit sectors. He is Chairman of The VAT Practitioners Group (West Midlands branch).
Jason has worked for a number of clients over the years covering a variety of trade sectors from manufacturing and assembly through to more hi-tec web design and data hosting businesses, all of which have unique and complex VAT considerations. His particular specialism’s are property related matters including property transfers, Transfer of Going Concerns including SDLT advice and European transactions which are becoming more relevant as businesses trade across borders to grow their income streams.
Jason is married with one daughter, enjoys gardening, motor sports and hiking, especially in the French Alps.
