Matt’s career has focused on the Bristol business community for the last 20 years. After working for a large local practice and a ‘top 10’ firm, Matt joined Haines Watts to utilise his skills in advising SME’s in all aspects of business, accounting and tax.

Matt has overall responsibility for the Bristol office of Haines Watts.

Carl Rogers qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1971. Before joining forces with Haines Watts, Carl ran his own accountancy practice in Bristol for 14 years. He brings with him a wealth of experience and really enjoys working with the owners of small and medium-sized businesses.

Helen qualified as a chartered tax adviser in 1996 and has spent over 20 years working in the field of tax. During this time she has worked for a variety of different size professional firms and spent time in industry. Her experience is of both corporate and personal tax and she deals with a wide variety of clients from individuals to groups of companies. Helen is also a qualified accounting technician having qualified in 1987.

After graduating with a law degree from the University of the West of England, James was employed by a local accountancy practice in Bristol and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2007 when he joined Haines Watts. Over his 8 years in practice, James has gained expertise in accounts preparation and audits for all sizes of businesses from sole traders and owner managed businesses through to public limited companies. James also has experience in preparing group financial statements, VAT work, corporate tax and carrying out Solicitors Accounts Rules audits.

Rachael Rackham is a Chartered Certified Accountant who has worked in practice since 1996. During this time she has been and continues to be involved in all aspects of accounts and tax return preparation for a wide variety of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. She also undertakes audits for various types of clients, including statutory and FSA audits and specialised EU reporting.

Andy has been involved with tax in one form or other for over 35 years and therefore is able to draw on his experiences to guide clients towards their goals. His qualification in education helps him understand problems that clients may have and identifying their needs.

After graduating, Tanya trained as an accountant with a large International firm before working in the financial services industry for several years. She returned to practice in 2003 and undertakes accounts preparation and audit for a variety of clients and has a wealth of experience of the charity and not-for-profit sector.

Simon started training as an Accountant when he left college at the age of 18. With over 10 years of experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge in preparing accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

After graduating at Leeds University, Alison worked for 15 years in continental Europe for several international computer companies. On returning to the UK in 2004, Alison joined a local Bristol firm as a trainee bookkeeper. On completion of her studies at Bristol City College, Alison became a Member of the International Association of Bookkeepers (MIAB).

She has developed her skill set to also include the preparation of VAT returns, management accounts and payroll.

After completing a degree in BSc Human Biosciences at the University of Exeter, William has recently joined the Bristol office to begin training towards a career in accounting and finance.

Pam joined HW Chartered Accountants in 2007, and amongst other duties, is responsible for the company administration, client payroll and credit control.

Priscilla moved to the Bristol area and joined the practice in 2001. She has worked for many accountancy firms over the years, gaining vast experience, and helps to ensure the smooth running of the office.
