Race is on for Basingstoke’s young entrepreneurs
Duncan Carter, a Haines Watts Young Entrepreneur finalist 2011, who comes from Basingstoke, has fired the starting gun on the 2012 Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition (HWYE).
The HWYE competition launched on 1st March and comes at a time when many organisations are calling for more support to be given to young people in the workplace.
Barry Potter, Partner at Haines Watts Basingstoke office says, “The Haines Watts Young Entrepreneur competition seeks out youngsters who have started their own businesses and made them a success.
“Since we launched the HWYE in 2010 we have found some incredible entrepreneurs who have demonstrated that success is possible even during difficult economic conditions. They are truly inspiring and possess common traits of drive, determination, imagination, flexibility and focus. These young business owners are inspiring others and are creating jobs too. We know there are others like them out there and we would like to hear from them.”
The HWYE competition is free, open to candidates who will not have reached their 36th birthday on 31st July 2012, and covers the whole Thames Valley area, defined as Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
Candidates have until 31st July to enter the competition and tell the judges why they and their business/es should win.
It's well worth entering the HWYE competition because winners not only get a cash prize and free publicity for their business but also mentoring for a year with Haines Watts. This includes free advice and support on all aspects of running a successful enterprise.
There is no lower age limit but candidates must have been running their business for at least a year and must be able to provide sound financial information. If this isn't you but you know someone who might be interested in entering please pass on the contact details below.
Semi finalists will be chosen prior to a 'grand final' - with an overall winner - in the Autumn.
